Living

We are Living the Transforming Love of Jesus Christ.

For Christ's love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.
(2 Corinthians 5:14-15)

Truth is Truth. And what we proclaim (and nod our heads to) on Sunday should impact who we are and how we live on Monday through Saturday. A surveyor has to find a benchmark (point of reference) to get his bearing, so that he can then have a better understanding of the terrain, surroundings and situation in which he finds himself.

The transforming love of Jesus needs to be our benchmark (reference point) for our lives. As a spouse, parent, son, brother, follower of Christ... the Truths of the Gospel are to impact (compel) the decisions I make, my responses to my circumstances and the way I love (the way I live).

We are committed to be a church that together - lives the transforming love of Jesus Christ. This will be exemplified in our life on life approach to ministry.

p.s. Emily Curry's dad (Mike Mills) says that there is a benchmark in Longcreek. Whoever sends me a picture (and location) of it, I'll buy a milkshake :)
